The Story
In the near future everyone's memories and brain activities are stored in a central depository system called the Life Grid which is touted as being extremely secure in an attempt to monitor people’s lives and provide the perfect support systems when required in order to increase human satisfaction with life, enhance their productivity and reduce crime and discontent. When a hacker manages to infiltrate the system however and spreads a virus it has devastating effects as the world's thoughts, actions and support systems are suddenly thrown into complete and utter chaos an epidemic of hate sweeps the nation. A wave of frantic violence and mayhem then rapidly ensues as the management corporation that runs the Life Grid struggles to retain control of the system. Â
The new epidemic is categorised as a form of new disease that provokes and causes uncontrolled hate inside people's minds which seems to be infectious and transmitted through any kind of close physical proximity and as the outbreak of the HATE virus suddenly infects an entire city, a small group of five uninfected survivors who seem to be immune, simply due to their rare biological structure and mental conditioning, struggle to find safety in the midst of a city filled to the brim with absolute hate.  Each of the five immune individuals cross paths as they venture through the city and they rapidly discover that they must group together to try to find a cure for the disease and track down the mysterious hacker as there is a hope that the mysterious individual may be able to assist them, if he is still alive.Â
A battle is faced by the five as they try to cross the city against those infected and various other obstacles such as the chaotic outbreak of crime as they attempt to seek out the formula and gather the components required to make a Love Cure which they are not actually sure will cure anyone at all as they fight for their lives against those they are ultimately trying to save. Due to the progression of the hate virus and growing numbers infected, the city body count continues to rise as more and more of the city's occupants are slaughtered by its inhabitants and the five struggle to create and produce the chemical composition of love that could be city's only possible hope and chance of survival as although they are safe from harm from the disease itself, they are still targets of hatred and possible slaughter by a city of residents that are definitely infected with the deadly virus which makes every step of their mission extremely dangerous. Written by Jill Thrussell
