Two shadows (Faithful and Challenge) go on strike and start to revolt as they abandon the human forms of two souls and bodies that they've been assigned to because when the annual 'Human of Tomorrow' contest arrives, unfortunately they are not eligible to participate. The Shadow Contest (Human of Tomorrow) is held annually by the Guardian of the Shadow world and the main prize provides one lucky shadow with the chance to become human and live a human life but to qualify you have to have served your human faithfully, be attached to a human being that no longer requires you for whatever reason and then win the Shadow Contest. Due to their personal shadow circumstances, this particular year the two shadows are ineligible and so they begin to rebel as their entrance to the contest is disallowed. When the two dissatisfied shadows decide to seek out and track down a shadow shaman with whom they form an alliance, chaos rapidly starts to ensue as they lead a rebellion which rapidly spreads out across the Shadowlands and even threatens to seep out into the human world. Genre: Family/Adventure/Magic Realism
Somewhere in the land where fairytales reside and grow,
Live the shadow people who long to be the human being of tomorrow,
Their duty is to watch over the humans (beings) that they protect,
And they tend to their duties daily with care, devotion and respect,
Every shadow longs to walk the Earth where human beings reside,
But sadly, they can only go where we take them because in darkness they must live and hide.

The Shadowlands population is made up of shadows, ninety percent of whom are assigned to human forms but about 10 percent work for the Human Favours Bureau in either; the Dream Centre, the Fate Training Academy, the Human Favour Life Bank, the Stork Family Assignment Facility, the Shadows Training Academy or the Rest In Peace Halls. In a valley on the edge of the Shadowlands, the mischief makers reside who are a group of shadows that have deserted their human forms that have been outlawed and banned from the Shadowlands and they occupy the Valley of Treachery. On occasions and whenever they can, these troublemakers invade the Shadowlands for various reasons with malicious attacks because they are wild, mischievous and rebellious. Every year a contest is held inside the Shadowlands and a human being is selected to moderate the 'Human of Tomorrow' contest alongside with the shadow ruler, the Guardian of the Shadowlands and one lucky, eligible shadow is then given the highly coveted 'Human of Tomorrow' annual prize so that they can actually live a real human life.
