The Story: Holo Haven
Short Summary: When three friends decide to visit a holographic, virtual vacation resort run by a technology company that offers dream and memory vacation packages to general customers as well as a special comfort package to those that are terminally ill, so that one in their number, an optimistic, chaotic, impulsive, experimental technology consultant who has been diagnosed with glioblastoma, can have a more comfortable departure from life, their vacations into the past and present quickly run into a deficit of fear. Much to their horror as they dissect facts from fiction and extract facts from fantasy, they discover that there is a lot more to the general fantasy fulfilment dream and memory vacation packages on offer than meets the mind and that there is a technological foe that seems to be on a mission to cross off some of their positive tallies of life. A dangerous artificial world within the very real world seeps into their very real human existence that could make their real life force extinct which John, a technological medical scientist fears, could sabotage his attempts to create an artificial, robotic brain organ that could help Simon, his best friend, with the deadly condition that he is facing. Summary Synopsis: When a man is diagnosed as terminally ill (with glioblastoma) with just six months to live, he convinces his two friends to accompany him to Holo Haven, a revolutionary, ground breaking virtual holo resort for not just vacationers but also for those that are terminally ill that wish to plan their departure from life and pass away while on the holo virtual vacation of their dreams or on a vacation from their own past via enhanced holo and virtual memories. Since the vacation package promises to provide a virtual blanket of comfort to death via a peaceful more pleasant holo and virtual death experience in order to help those in pain pass away in peace as well as providing the dream or memory based holo virtual life vacation via dream and memory technology that other vacationers have always yearned to live or relive and there is also an option that enables vacationers to holographically and virtually reconstruct and enhance their favorite memories so that those experiences can then be relived throughout their vacation howevery they wish too, his two friends swiftly agree to accompany him due to the mind blowing technology vacation on offer.
However, as the three friends discover when they visit the resort and island location, there is a lot more to Holo Haven's corporate promises, memory vacation, idealistic dream adventure vacations and comfortable dream departure vacation packages than meets the mind as they swiftly uncover a dangerous world within the real world where they face some dangerous obstacles. Being that the three are held captive by a ruthless, relentless, omnipresent technological foe with seemingly unlimited capabilities that utilizes their desires, thoughts, feelings and memories to trap them, they quickly realize that they must try to disable and demolish the technology source before it destroys them.
The fabric of the three vacationer's existence is rapidly thrown into a whirlwind of uncertainty as they try to forge a friendly alliance with a couple of other vacationers who are also mortal captives with a definite physical expiry date like themselves that is actually a secret operative who is tasked with the demolition of the technology in question. Suddenly, reality is thrown into total disarray as the vacationers swiftly discover that they have to fight their way out of a fantasy simulated dream and memory existence and program to not only regain control of their own lives but also to secure their own very real physical survival before their lives are actually extinguished. Unfortunately for the group of vacationers however, only one in their number has the technical skills, knowledge and experience to help them escape and their intelligent captor and technological foe seems to possess the capacity of an army of enemies.
