I AM LOVE (riddle, metaphorical poem and personification of love follow on from Personification of Maturity written in 2001)
I have rubbed shoulders and mingled with presidents, stars and queens,
Though they know not my name and I’ve never been seen,
I have touched their hearts, been in their minds and on their lips,
I have shaped their world, given life and sparked relationships.
Though they know not my name and I’ve never been seen,
I have touched their hearts, been in their minds and on their lips,
I have shaped their world, given life and sparked relationships.
I can turn war into peace so that they put down their guns,
I have fed every life with my kind and innocent arms,
I can touch their lives but they don’t know my name,
But when I touch their hearts they are never the same,
I come with truth, wisdom and joy,
Although some people hurt me and treat me like a toy.
I am ever present but I have never been seen,
And I can visit at night just like a dream,
Who am I?
I am love.

This one comes from a line in a poem I wrote when I was young (1980's):
What is Love (line excerpts)
Is it a common ailment like a cold or the flu
Or is it an epidemic that is brand new,
