Summary: one day ten year old Ace, who is often bullied at school, has an encounter with the dark wish thief who grants him the ability to make wishes that come true, so when he makes a wish and it comes true and his enemies' face turns into a bright red cabbage, he suddenly realizes that his ability is real which sets him on a wild path as he goes on a wild wishes justice spree correcting all the wrongs that have ever been done to him by wishing bad things on the people responsible to get revenge and also wishes for things that he has never had.  Unfortunately, Ace starts to realize that his wishes might have a cost when some of his family members start to suffer in unusual ways, but as his wish making ability attracts the attention of a dodgy uncle, who he confides in, his dodgy relative encourages him to make some outlandish and wealth related wishes that he wants to cash in on, which leads to some hilarious and some fun results.  However, when Ace makes a negative mean wish in anger one day that he regrets that relates to one of his own family members and then tries to undo the wish and can't, he realizes that perhaps his wish granting ability is more of a curse than an actual blessing.

In response Ace tries to track down the Wish Thief to undo the mischievous miswish and sets off to find him or some other kind of help in Wishland, however, not everyone wants to assist in a dark wish granting scheme gone wrong and so first he has to prove himself to Verity Wishheart a wish granting inspector and wish assessor who can help him, by taming some wild wish creatures and then prove that he can make some good and wise wishes to solve some tricky problems for others.  After Ace satisfies Verity Wishheart's first request, he must then find and make some sincere wishes for any undeserving persons that he made bad wishes about to undo the impact of the bad miswishes that he has made which she agrees to grant for him due to the irreversible nature of his wish granting abilities.  Finally, in order to restore Ace’s position and undo the negative impact his miswishes have had on his own family, he must also find a way to undo the other wishes that he made that cost him a hidden price and that caused his family members various problems, but a constraint on his wish granting abilities does not allow him to undo wishes that he has already made which means that his wishes cannot be undone with other wishes he makes and so he must find another way to correct and repair the damage done but Verity Wishheart is now busy with the Christmas Wish rush and so he has to earn his wishes by helping her to check and also make wishes come true for others and must overcome the temptations of the dark Wish Thief who sets some traps for him along the way.  Written by Jill Thrussell
