Wishland: The Christmas Wish Dance

Wishland: The Christmas Wish Dance

The Story: when a talent show host and judge is recruited to find the next big UK dance act, in an attempt to find another successful cultural dance hit and export like Riverdance in time for the nation's Annual National Christmas Variety Show performance at the Royal Albert Hall, he/she has to wade through demanding pushy parents, spoilt brats, contestant pranks and mayhem and stands to lose their reputation as well as a high value talent show if they fail.  In the midst of the chaos, he/she must also try to gauge and assess whether Morris Dancing, the Highland Fling or Maypole Dancing can be done in a more modern form and if any offer some signs of promise but as the Variety Show Performance date draws near, things are looking bleak.  However, just as he/she is about to give up hope, he/she makes a wish for help in total frustration and surprisingly, a mischievous wish pixie from Wishland shows up and then teaches the competing dance troupes a different kind dance, plays some pranks on some of the contestants and their parents to fix their bad attitudes and teaches the talent show host how to find deeper meaning in their wish and helps them to grant a wish for a deserving child contestant who has lost touch and is estranged from her father to make this year's show not only a more successful Christmas Variety show but also to make this year's performance a more meaningful Christmas celebration as they try to insert the rhythm of kindness, the melody of joy and a dance of goodwill into their hearts and their Christmas.  Written by Jill Thrussell
