Yesterday's Memories: Shadows of My Heart

The Story:

Short Summary: When a man who is terminally ill that has avoided the reality of his own self for most of his life discovers that he has Alzheimer's, Kian, who is a retired archaeologist, is given the opportunity via his memories and a memory journal to travel back through time via a pioneering time travelling AI program to undo some of his past mistakes which he hopes will help him to save his childhood friend, help him to avoid the occurrence of a human scientific tragedy and help him to set the record straight with his estranged daughter.  However, as Kian attempts to break the loop of human failure in his own life, he must weigh up the probabilities of each option to find the optimal combination of actionable time travelling outcomes with the AI system that will produce the desired results with the least problematic fluctuations and deviations to the current time and travel back in time several times before the sands of his own life run out.  Written by Jill Thrussell

The Story:

Short Summary: When a man who is terminally ill that has avoided the reality of his own self for most of his life discovers that he has Alzheimer's, Kian, who is a retired archaeologist, decides to travel back through time via his memories in order to try and make peace with his past and leave a memory journal for his loved ones, namely his estranged son, before the past disappears completely via a revolutionary AI memory research project.  However in accordance with his will and dying wishes, after Kian passes away, his son Kristian must watch the memory journal with groups of memories from each decade of his life to excavate Kian's past, must follow a trail of memory clues and then take action in his own life, to deal with any similar issues to excavate and repair any mistakes from the past and to find, guard excavate and protect his treasures in life to qualify for certain parts of the will in order to access his inheritance as Kian helps his son from beyond the grave with a crutch of care, to learn from his father's life mistakes, to correct any of his own wrongs, to appreciate every second of life and live it to its fullest as well as to appreciate those nearest and dearest to him more.  Along the way however, Kristian uncovers a mystery that may help bring closure to a stranger's past, but this mystery he has to solve himself and his father's memory journal provides no clues to the shadows lurking in history that search for the truth.  Written by Jill Thrussell

Short Summary: When a man who is terminally ill that has avoided the reality of his own self for most of his life discovers that he has Alzheimer's, he decides to try to make peace with his past and leave a memory journal for his loved ones before the past disappears completely via a revolutionary AI memory research project.  During this process Kian tries to reconstruct his forgotten memories via some footage, newspaper clips and photos that remain as he tries to correct some life misdeeds as well as make the memory journal for his son which he hopes will fill in some of the gaps during his absent years from his son’s life before the last of moments of his life and his past memories slip away.  However, when Kristian, Kian’s son sifts through Kian’s memory message files and attempts to piece together fragments of yesterday from the past, in his attempts to reconcile his father’s past with his own present, he discovers more about the man that he thought he knew during his childhood years, and the tide of tragedy that swept away his marriage leaving behind only the debris of heartbreak and failure.  During this process, Kristian must also follow a trail of clues to work out his father's dying wishes which the Alzheimer's seems to have eroded as well as uncover a mystery that he is tasked with solving which could provide some kind of peace and closure to more than just his own mind as he takes a trip back through time and follows a memory trail of clues via his father’s reconstructed memory files which also indicate that he might not be the only person that has a biological connection to his father but answers and time are in short supply because Kristian must solve both mysteries before he is due to return to his military post and his own family life.  Written by Jill Thrussell

The Story: In this short film Kian visits Melissa to try and salvage a friendship from childhood that has vanished in some capacity over the years with every decade dissolving its virtues and attributes and wealthy treasures of happiness due to circumstances of despair when fear and inaction overrode loyalty and ethics. In Kian’s search for wisdom, he hopes to attain forgiveness and to restore dignity but the echoes of heartbreak pound loudly against the sorrow of the years lost, interrupted only by the joys of yesteryear that still live in their smiles and hearts as he tries to rekindle the sparks of joy that they once shared before the tides of life wash away his last hopes forever. This story is being told via a main timeline with two other stories being told alongside it in flashbacks, one chronologically in reverse and the other in chronological order.
