Fifi Langur
The Story: follows the journey of a red shanked douc (langur) Fifi and a young boy from a poor family (told from the perspective of the monkey and the young boy) that befriend each other after the monkey saves the young boy's life before the monkey is caught in a trap after which Fifi is traded as an exotic pet. The young boy collects some junk and tries to make it into useful things to trade as he attempts to find and rescue Fifi to buy the monkey back her freedom but his quest is impossible as vast oceans separate them. However, years later, he suddenly has the chance to repay nature's kindness when he is offered a scholarship overseas to study to become a vet but he must first find a way to avoid service to the exotic pet traders and poachers who are attempting to manipulate his family that want to use his interest and knowledge of animals to bolster their business.
