Summary:  After their mother goes missing, two siblings discover a mysterious ancient book that unlocks supernatural, mythological and hybrid creatures and entities of evil and good and so, they start to follow a horrifying trail of supernatural clues which could lead to their missing mother to discover whether or not she is still alive as they cling onto some thin threads of hope that she still is.  However as the two  do so, they must not only try to unlock the right evil or good creatures to find more clues but also attempt to keep the evil ones under control by summoning the right good creatures until they have all the clues they need.  Since the evil hybrids and supernatural and mythological creatures seem to be intent on slaughtering humanity, the two siblings not only have to capture the evil entities that should not have been freed in the first place and find the clues that might lead to their mother but as they cling onto some very thin threads of hope as their mother's survival and possible safe return hangs over their heads in uncertain limbo, they must also try to keep themselves alive as they attempt to find her.  Written by Jill Thrussell

Synopsis: When their mother goes missing, due to their father's distress, two siblings, close to and in their early twenties, go to visit and stay with their strange and eccentric uncle for the weekend who is a curator of an antiques museum in an attempt to convince him to assist their father in his search due to a past family rift.  While exploring his mysterious attic however, they stumble upon and find an ancient book of poetry called the Odes to Life & Death that once opened and read seems to summon, release, unleash and unlock entities and creatures of evil and good within it which grants them license to enter into the real world.  Since the two siblings unknowingly unlock some evil entities that they are then unable to contain and capture, they must then track down and find another ancient poetry book called the Guide to the Odes of Life & Death which is a book that contains guidance about the Odes to Life & Death book and convince the owner of the guide book to entrust them with it.

In order to identify, figure out and then summon the correct entities and creatures of good to combat the evils that are now loose in society, the two siblings must work out which creatures can overpower which and which they should summon.  However, they rapidly discover that some creatures and odes seem to hold mysterious clues that relate to their mother's disappearance and so they quickly embark upon a quest to follow the horrifying mystery trail of supernatural clues to discover whether or not she is still alive as they cling onto some thin threads of hope that she still is.  A race against time begins as two try to see not only if they can find and reach their mother on time in order to save her but as they do so, they must also simultaneously try to unlock the right evil or good creatures to find more clues and attempt to control the evil ones by unlocking the right good creatures until they have all the clues that they need.  Since the evil hybrid, supernatural and mythological creatures seem to be intent on slaughtering humanity, the two siblings not only have to capture the evil entities that should not have been freed in the first place and find the clues that might lead to their mother but as they cling onto some very thin threads of hope as to their mother's survival and possible safe return which hangs over their heads in uncertain limbo, they must also try to keep themselves alive as they attempt to find her.  Written by Jill Thrussell
