Social Stand-ing/Social Stand-in

Summary: A unique app allows users to trade, purchase, rent out, rate or sell their social relationships with friends, lovers and family members and to be stand-in friends, lovers and family members to others but as social relationships become a tradeable currency, three friends swiftly find themselves in the Bargain Basement when the commodity of friendship and their friendship is tested. Due to their low value and worthless rating as 'Useless Friends', they enroll in a course to learn how to become Value Added Friends and quickly put themselves up for hire on the app as stand in friends, lovers and family members, so that they can earn a better rating and add to their social value through social interactions with other people that they hope will be meaningful, pleasant and positive.
The app has some strict rules that forbid any kind of sexual intimacy with regards to the trading or stand-in lovers services on offer or taken but as the three quickly discover, substitute familial relationships can be a very messy minefield, temporary lovers can easily be made redundant and some friendships or friends are truly not worth their weight in gold as the program and their stand-in service provisions bring out the worst in themselves and those around them. Since people's expectations from social relationships and definitions of what a 'good friend' or a 'good family member' should or shouldn't be can vary, everyone in the trio of friendship has different ideas, opinions and approaches on what will make them more socially valuable and a better friend, lover or family member and so, this sets off a challenge amongst the three as they try to figure that out in order to increase their individual social values and social worth. Along their way, as they embark upon a voyage of social discovery, it does make them question however, what is important to them as individuals and what really matters within the realms of their own 'commercially imperfect and socially inferior' but solidly durable and comfortably cozy friendship.
