Trickster Island and the Trophies of Life
When eight young lovers are caught having a relationship in society where love is banned, they are sent to Trickster Island (Island of Death) where they must learn to trade life and death with the occupants (some of whom are dead already and who were mainly criminal entities like con artists and tricksters) in order to win trophies of life on offer to each of them that will let them live again. However, as their pasts are unravelled in fearful ways and they must face versions of their darkest secrets and failures which are full of horror and tricks that put to the test whether or not love is really enough to keep their bodies and minds alive along with some of the Island of Death's tricky occupants, some of whom want the trophies of life for themselves, they must see if they can trick their way back into life. So, as they are tested and judged on fearful versions of their pasts, to see if they deserve to live and love or not, they must each decide whether or not to compete, what to compete for, if they want to live a life of probable death on the island with love, or if they want to live a life back in society where they will most certainly have to live without it.
