Horizons of Hope/Steps of Hope
The Story:
Summary: A man living a life of crime (in a drug crime racket) suffers a near death incident and ends up not only on the brink of death but afterwards in a wheelchair for a while as he also suffers some temporary memory loss however, he somehow manages to cling onto his life and survive, at which point his ten/eleven/twelve year old son, who he has barely seen since birth, comes to visit him. Although Raphael barely even knows his father due to his father's criminal and drug infested lifestyle, he attempts to provide him with a crutch of support as he tries to help him walk again. However as Raphael attempts to help his father regain his mobility and encourages him to embark on a new cleaner life, they visit some of the places that he remembers in the hope that it will help him to recover some past memories and as they do so, Raphael starts to teach his father some basics in human decency as he helps him take some steps forward not only with his legs but also some steps back in life towards human kindness and compassion, two important values which it appears his father has long forgotten.
