Imperfectus

The Story

In the not too distant future the Earth has become a colony after a successful invasion by an android alien race who transform every human being that they find into what they deem to be 'perfect human beings' with imperfection scan radars, robotic programs, operative surgery and sensory control devices which eradicate human emotions, give all human beings the same level of intellect (an average human mental capacity) and a standard aesthetic appearance that meets basic human standards of beauty to eliminate conflict, dissatisfaction and to reduce aggressive human competitive instincts.  Somehow however, a small remnant of imperfect souls manage to avoid capture and assimilation as they survive underground in small groups of six known as survival cells but as six of those underlanders try to regain their place on the Earth's surface, they find it harder and harder to avoid detection and transformation as they start to dig up indicators that signal that the alien android invasion itself may not have been an unprovoked attack.  When the group are sent up to the surface to scavenge for supplies that includes a father and daughter of ten years, a mature lady in her late sixties, a fifteen year old male, a priest and a female programmer, they must find a way to work together and overcome their differences in order to ensure that they do not become captives to the alien androids or to the 'perfect human' victims that now only seem to mimic some aspects of their own human identity, many of whom are on the hunt to either assimilate or terminate any rebel human lives that remain in accordance with their robotic parts which now control their mental faculities.  Written by Jill Thrussell
